MQ-6 Gas Sensor Module
The MQ-6 gas sensor module is a simple and easy-to-use device designed to sense LPG, composed mainly of propane and butane, concentrations in the air. With a sensitivity range from 200 to 10,000ppm, the MQ-6 gas sensor is suitable for a range of applications.
The MQ-6 gas sensor has high sensitivity and fast response times. The sensor's output is an analog resistance, and the drive circuit is uncomplicated, requiring only a 5V power source to the heater coil, a load resistance, and a connection to an ADC.
The MQ-6 gas sensor employs SnO2 as its sensitive material, which has low conductivity in clean air. As the concentration of target combustible gas increases, the sensor's conductivity rises correspondingly. By using a simple electro circuit, the change in conductivity can be converted into a corresponding gas concentration output signal.
This gas sensor is highly sensitive to propane, butane, and LPG, as well as natural gas. The sensor can detect different combustible gases, particularly methane, and is suitable for various applications due to its low cost.
